1. Title: Effects of Diabetic Nephropathy on Phosphorus Homeostasis

Synopsis: A paradoxical metabolic imbalance in inorganic phosphate occurs from the early onset of diabetes. This study is an attempt to find out the serum phosphorus levels in diabetic nephropathy patients and to find its association with HbA1c.

2. Title: Role of C-reactive Protein (CRP) in determining neonatal infections

Synopsis: In this study, it was observed that CRP is one of the reliable diagnostic markers used in the diagnosis of neonatal infections and is preferred over the newly emerging infection markers. CRP assay has proven to be less time-consuming and more effective for analyzing samples of neonates who are already on antibiotics treatment.

Synopsis: The study indicates that proper and timely regulation of blood glucose levels will prevent the progression of Diabetes to Renal Impairment. Simple tests like Serum urea and serum Creatinine are helpful in uncontrolled diabetic patients to assess the damage done to the kidneys and their functioning.

Synopsis: The electrolyte balance plays a key role in the treatment of critically ill patients. Also, the presence & accurate measurement of the electrolyte imbalance at the time of admission in critically ill children irrespective of the primary disease process is an important prognostic indicator in PICU patients where greater attention and proper analysis of electrolytes is recommended.

Synopsis: This study showed that ELite 580 provides reliable results when compared with the LH780 analyzer which uses similar technology and the overall performance of the ELite 580 is comparable to that of the established LH 780

6. Title: Diagnosis Embattled - Correlation of Serum Ferritin and Lipid Profile with  severity of Dengue in the pediatric population

Synopsis: The study has shown an excellent correlation between high serum ferritin levels and the severity of dengue in pediatric patients. However, the relationship between lipid profile as a whole or its components and the severity and/or prognosis of the dengue needs further research and assessment.
