Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh – Dr. Mallika Nadda, noted social welfare advocate and wife of Hon’ble Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Shri J. P. Nadda, visited the state-of-the-art Transasia Diagnostics facility at the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ), Visakhapatnam.

During her visit, Dr. Nadda toured one of Asia’s largest in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) manufacturing facilities, gaining first-hand insight into the advanced technologies and infrastructure driving India’s medical diagnostics sector. The facility houses sophisticated BSL-II and BSL-III clean rooms, lyophilization units, automated protein purification systems, and high-capacity production lines for ELISA-based diagnostic kits, RT-PCR kits, and rapid diagnostic solutions.

Spread across approximately 35,000 sq. ft., the facility has the capability to manufacture up to 600,000 ELISA kits per day, significantly contributing to India’s efforts to strengthen domestic healthcare manufacturing and reduce dependence on imports.

Dr. Nadda interacted with the leadership teams of Erba Transasia and AMTZ, discussing the role of indigenous innovation in enhancing healthcare accessibility and building a resilient diagnostics ecosystem. She appreciated the facility’s world-class infrastructure and highlighted the importance of nurturing home-grown technologies in advancing the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Nadda emphasized that strengthening domestic diagnostic capabilities is essential for ensuring timely, affordable, and equitable healthcare for all citizens.

Her visit underscores the growing momentum of India’s Make in India initiative in the healthcare sector and reflects the nation’s commitment to becoming a global hub for medical technology and diagnostics innovation.
